Considering Being a Candidate in the 2025 Town of Killam Municipal Election?

Beginning at the October 2025 General Municipal Election thereafter, the Town of Killam shall be compromised of five (5) Councillors, where one (1) to be appointed from within the acclaimed elected officials to be the Chief Elected Official, know as the Mayor for the Town of Killam.
Nominations
Nominations are now being accepted for Town Council for the duration of a 4-year term, ending in October 2029. The deadline for nominations is Monday, September 22, 2025 at 12:00 pm (noon). Nomination packages and information are available at the Killam Town Office: 4923 - 50 Street Killam, AB T0B 2L0 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Please submit your nomination package by dropping it off at the Killam Town Office before the deadline.
Roles and Responsibilities of Council Members
Some of the requirements of Town Council members include:
- Attending monthly Regular Council Meetings and Special Meetings when necessary
- Spending time reading materials, and conversing with residents and CAO prior to meetings to prepare in making informed decisions
- Attending other Board & Committee Meetings, which you will be appointed to as a Council representative

Election Day
Residents of Killam can vote on Monday October 20, 2025 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Killam has one voting station, located at the Town of Killam Office: 4923 - 50 Street. All voters will be required to provide identification prior to obtaining a ballot, validating that they are eligible to vote.
