All dogs and cats in Killam must be licensed annually. Licenses may be purchased at the Town Office for $15.00/pet and must be renewed by January 31 of each year. All tags issued after January 31 are $30.00/pet. Pet License Forms can be filled out on the Killam App under "Forms & Permits" , "Pet Licensing Form" or stop by the office to give us your pet(s) information. 

Residents may own a maximum of 3 dogs and / or a maximum of 4 cats.

Dogs must be kept inside your own property and on a leash if being walked. Cat owners are to ensure cats remain on private property, otherwise have consent of other property owners.  Dogs and Cats must be tagged, owners of untagged pets may be fined.

No vehicle shall be parked on a street for more than 24 continuous hours, with the exception of owners of vehicles parked on a street adjoining their own personal property.

Truck and equipment larger than 1 tonne must remain on the designated Truck Route unless otherwise permitted by the Town Administrator.

Trailers can not be parked on the street unless the trailer is attached to a vehicle by which it may be properly drawn, and when so attached the trailer shall be part of the vehicle. RV's or RV trailers may only be parked on the streets while loading and unloading, unless otherwise approved by the Town Manager.

• Watering of lawns in Killam shall be restricted to the hours of 6:00am - 10:00am, and/or 6:00pm - midnight, daily as follows:
  • Even numbered properties on even numbered calendar days
  • Odd numbered properties on odd numbered calendar days
• The water restriction shall not apply to newly seeded lawns, newly lain sod, flower beds, trees, or vegetable gardens.

Penalties for Violations

Infractions may be subject to the following penalties:      

• 1st Offence- written warning
• 2nd Offence- a fine of $20.00
• 3rd Offence- a fine of $40.00
• 4th & Subsequent Offence- a fine of $80.00
