Announcement
The Highlights of the August 8, 2024 Council Meeting are as follows:
- MCSNet presented to Town Council on the new "GigAir" high-speed internet service that they are intent on bring to Killam. Residents will be able to sign up in the next few months, watch for details.
- Bylaw #882 - Council representation was finalized. Beginning the 2025 Municipal Election, the Town of Killam Council will consist of five elected Councillors. The Mayor will then be appointed from among the 5 elected officials.
- The tender bid price of $146,580 from B-Systems Electric Controls Ltd. and Forestburg Transit Mix was accepted to have the distribution piping replaced at the Water Treatment Plant in the upcoming months.
- A letter will be sent to Flagstaff County requesting dust control for Elevator Road, Cemetery Road and the road north of Centennial Park, as these are roads primarily used by rural residents.
- The $2,000 estimate to make repairs to the small bridge in Heritage Park was approved by Council. Repairs to take place in 2024.
