The Killam Town Office has been notified that a number of local businesses have received an email from "Killam".
Please delete the email and DO NOT follow the Link as it asks. This is a SCAM and the information that is listed in the email itself is all bogus.
RCMP have been notified and they have advised that "No personal information should be released if requested" and that persons may report an incident - where that type of information is request - to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501
Sometimes it just feels like you need to somehow do something for those who are suffering great loss... especially when that loss could all too easily have been your own.
A number of phone calls were recieved at the Town Office today, asking what could be done to pay tribute to those dedicated people who lost their lives while traveling to a hockey game in Saskatchewan this Friday, April 6, 2018. We are sharing just a few of the options that we have heard are upcoming in our community.
Thursday, April 12, 2018 will be "Jersey Day" and anyone who can participate is invited to wear whatever jersey you may have. The local schools are also taking part in this. We will share more information as we find out details.
Another campaign that has begun is to leave your hockey stick(s) on your front steps. This is being done nation wide - and anyone can take part.
A "GoFundMe" page has also been set up - with over $4 Million being raised as of today. There may also be local accounts for donations, but as of today (Monday, April 9, 2018) we are not yet aware of them.
A meeting of the Municipal Planning Commission will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 beginning at 6:30pm in the Killam Town Office Council Chambers.
