The Flagstaff Food Bank will once again be co-ordinating the annual Christmas Sharing Program in Flagstaff County, a community tradition that involves the collection and distribution of gifts and food hampers for those less fortunate county residents.
Some important dates to remember:
Family Adoption Applications - November 25, 2016
If you are aware of a family in need (with their permission), please feel free to forward their name and information (forms are available at FFCS or Killam Town Office) to the Flagstaff Food Bank or calling: (780) 385-3976. Requests are needed by submitted by Nov 25, 2016.
Adopt a Family - December 4, 2016
If interested in "Adopting a Family", please notify FFCS by December 4. Please limit your gift purchases to approximately $60 per family member. Please leave all gifts unwrapped but include some gift wrap with your family's gift bundle. FFCS may redistribute excess purchases to other persons if need be. If you are gifting clothing, please include the "Gift Receipt" - in case an exchange is necessary. Due to increasing occurance of allergies, FFCS asks that stuffed toys not be given. Deliver your gifts to 4919 - 47 Street, Sedgewick (the Community Press Building), no later than December 14.
If you are interested in volunteering for an hour or a full day, please call ahead to find out when your help can be best utilized. Preparations will begin Monday, December 5, 2015. Donations will be accepted from December 5 - December 14, from 10am to 4pm during weekdays. Monetary donations can also be mailed to Flagstaff Christmas Sharing, Box 581, Killam, AB T0B 2L0
Join the Flagstaff Victim Services, RCMP, EMS, Flagstaff Emergency Services, Killam Fire Department, Alberta Health Services, Office of Traffic Saftey, Flagstaff Food Bank and Christmas Sharing, Flagstaff Family & Community Services and the Killam Wheat Kings Jr. B Team on Saturday to help raise funds and collect food and toys for those who are less fortunate in our Communities. All donations will remain within Flagstaff County.
The Parade of Lights will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 beginning at 6:00pm on Killam Main Street.
Join in for an evening of Family activities for the whole family! A Free movie at the Living Room (old Killam theater), bonfires, late night shopping, sleigh rides and the Festival of Trees.

The Killam Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Festival of Trees in conjunction with the Parade of Lights and Moonlight Madness event going on in Killam on Friday, December 3, as well as the annual Chirstmas Craft Fair that will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016. The exhibit will be held at the Killam Seniors Centre, adjacent to the Killam Communiity Hall. Donations to the Flagstaff Food Bank will be accepted!

The Killam Community Hall Board and Killam Chamber of Commerce are hosting the Killam Community Christmas on Saturday, December 10, 2016. The groups are requesting Chamber and Board members to contribute to the evenings late lunch by donating food items or cash. Currently, the following is required: 5 hams (not the rolled ones) for the Christmas Dinner, or appetizers, fruit or veggie platters, squares or cookies for the late lunch.
