The tree grates on Main Street are scheduled for some renovations!
Work has begun (September 16) to replace these "plastic" grates with metal grates. In addition, since the initial sidewalk project in 2012, the aggregate (stone looking) portions of the sidewalks have developed a number of cracks and shifting. So, along with the replacement of the grates, these portions of sidewalk will be re-laid with the added support of rebar to keep things stable!
This work will be done one section at a time, and crews are currently located on the north end of Main Street. Please be alert and use caution when your walking by these areas!
Please check back... updates will be made as they happen!
It's hard to believe it's that time of year again... but the kids are heading back to school! Please pay close attention to school zones and crossings- as sometimes the excitement of seeing your teachers and friends again may lead to a bad decision when it comes to crossing the street safely! Hoping the students at Killam Public School have an enjoyable year!
