Snow & Sidewalks

2020-11-13 13:49:03

It was bound to happen... the snow has started to fall!

Don't let your sidewalk look like the one in the picture! Keeping your sidewalks shoveled between snowfalls makes the task so much easier! Please remember that a variety of people use the sidewalks, including children, elderly and those with impaired mobility problems. Keeping streets clear helps all the users access the places they need to go!

Town of Killam Bylaw #773B requires sidewalks adjacent to your property to be cleared within 24hrs. Should complaints be received, bylaw fines will be issued, the 1st Offense being $75. This applies to both businesses and residential properties.

Also - quick reminder -  snow from private property is not to be pushed onto town streets.
